Privacy policy

Who we are. The Romanian Community Summit (rosummit.org) is organized by Romanian United Foundation (RUF), a nonprofit at 5408 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. This policy covers rosummit.org and the Summit's registration, ticketing and portal pages. RUF's general policies at romanianunitedfund.org apply to anything not covered here.

What we collect. Name, email address, phone number, city and country, and the organization or role you tell us about. If you buy a ticket we also keep what you bought, the amount paid and a check-in code. If you sign up for text alerts we keep your mobile number and the exact consent wording you accepted. If you use a sponsor, speaker, partner or volunteer portal we keep what you submit there, including logos, images and links.

Why we use it. To register you, send your ticket and confirmations, check you in at the door, answer your questions, run sponsor and speaker logistics, and tell you about the Summit. We do not sell your details.

Text messages. If you tick the consent box, we text you about your registration, schedule changes and Summit logistics - up to 4 messages a month. Reply STOP to be removed at any time or HELP for help; message and data rates may apply. Your mobile number and consent record are shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts, and are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Email. You receive email about your ticket and the event. Other RUF email only goes to people who chose to keep in touch, and every one of those messages has an unsubscribe link.

Who else sees your details. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. Email is sent through Resend, text messages through Twilio, and the site runs on Lovable Cloud. Venues receive only the names of attendees for the events they host. We share details with no one else, except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it. Attendee details are kept for 12 months after the Summit and then anonymized. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires. Opt-out records for text messages are kept so we can prove we honored your request.

Cookies. The site uses only what it needs to work - keeping you signed in and remembering your preferences. We do not run advertising trackers.

Children. The Summit's online forms are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect details from children under 13.

Your choices. To see, correct or delete your details, or to be removed from any list, write to summit@ruf.global and we will act within 30 days.

Changes. We may update this policy; the version on this page always applies.
