September 18–20, 2026 · Chicago. Volunteers are the backbone of the largest Romanian diaspora summit in North America — and the people who get the most out of it.
Volunteers stand shoulder to shoulder with founders, diplomats, artists, doctors, engineers and community builders from across the diaspora. You will not be watching the Summit from the back of the room — you will be the person they meet first.
Badges open doors, but roles start conversations. Greeting a speaker, running a session room or hosting a table gives you a natural reason to talk with people you would never cold-email — and a reason for them to remember you.
Event production, hospitality, live streaming, moderation, logistics, ticketing, social media. You get hands-on practice with a real deadline and a real audience, plus a briefing from the organizers before you start.
No vague "help out wherever". Every volunteer gets a named role, a shift window, a point of contact and a short checklist — registration desk, speaker liaison, room host, tech & stream support, hospitality, or floating support.
Three days, hundreds of attendees, dozens of sessions. What you do lands immediately: a session that starts on time, a guest who feels welcome, a panel that gets recorded properly. Community is built in these small, concrete acts.
Volunteers are credited by the organizing team, invited to the volunteer briefing and debrief, and can request a reference letter from the Romanian United Foundation for their contribution.
